Men's Fellowship
Seeking men for Christ, growing men in Christ.
"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love."1 Corinthians 16:13-14 ESV
Who we are
Church is more than just Sundays; Christianity is for the whole of life! We were made for community, and God has wonderfully given that to us by adopting us into His family by faith in Christ. Men’s Meeting is simply one of the ways this is expressed at Pound Lane Free Church. Our aim is to strengthen and build each other up in our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as we seek to live as His disciples. We do this by meeting for fellowship with one-another and studying God’s Word, the Bible. Our time together often (but not always) begins with a shared meal with plenty of opportunity for informal chat before putting aside our plates and opening our Bibles together. There is opportunity both to contribute to discussion or simply listen. We welcome men from any background at whatever stage you are at in your walk with Christ. We meet once every 5 weeks at 6:30pm on Friday evenings in the side hall at PLFC. Information about upcoming meetings is shared via our WhatsApp group and email, so please let us know if you would like to be included in either of those so that you can stay up to date. Men’s meeting is led by our deacons Steve Wager and Paul Rogerson.
We are currently working through the book of Proverbs together and enjoying thinking about how to apply God’s wisdom to our lives as men in His church, our families, our workplaces and the world. Previous studies have included ‘Disciplines of a Godly man’ and Pink's 'The Attributes of God'. Periodically we hold Men’s Breakfasts, featuring guest speakers who will share something of their life and how they came to know and love the Lord Jesus. If you haven’t been to men’s meeting before, these breakfasts are a great way to find out what it is all about
