UFOs - UnFinished Objects! (Art & Crafts)
Welcome to UFOs! UFOs stands for UnFinished Objects, and that is what this is all about - actually transforming unfinished art and craft objects into finished, useful things!
The idea is simply to allow people with a common interest in being creative to get together to do their hobbies and learn new ones.
Why would a church want to do this?
This is certainly not a replacement for people coming together to worship God, that has always been, and will remain, the very heart of plfc. However, when we read in the Bible that God has made us "in His own image", we understand that to include the truth that God is Himself the greatest creator of all time, and it has pleased Him to put within each of us both the desire, and the ability, to do creative things - in this we "image" Him.
At the same time we'd love the chance to share with you who Jesus is, and what He has done; and to that end there will be a short break for refreshments halfway through each session during which we will show the next section of the award winning film "So who is this Jesus?" (each section is introduced by our friend Roger Carswell).
So why not come along and give it a go?
When we first discussed the idea of doing this, so many wanted to be a part of it that we are now planning to hold two sessions each month at different times to accomodate everyone's availability - so you can come to either session or to both!
What arts and crafts will people be doing? - that's really up to you! Certainly we expect there to be - painting & drawing, knitting & crochet, felting, cross stitch, quilting & decoupage.
Sessions will be held on the first Friday evening of each month from 7.00pm - 9.00pm and on the third Wednesday of each month from 9.30am - 11.30am
