Coronavirus guidance

Sunday morning services and Wednesday Church Nights (from the 6th September 2020)

  • Church building

    • Bring a pullover! To minimise the risk of transmission, all possible windows and doors will be kept open during the service, and fans will be used to circulate the air. Therefore it might be a cooler temperature than you're used to.
    • Bring your own Bible and drinks! There will be no hymn books, Bibles, or drinks available at the church except bottled water (on request). Please also take home everything you bring.
    • Wash your hands! Hand sanitising and washing facilities will be present at all toilets and entrances/exists in the building. Please use them, and please wash your hands as soon as you get home.
    • Look for signs! Social distancing markers will be present on the floor and seating will be arranged to ensure a 2 metre spacing of households and Support Bubbles. Please observe them.
    • As of the 8th August 2020, the UK Government mandates the wearing of masks in enclosed public spaces where there are people they do not normally meet, such as a place of worship. Specific exclusions to this rule are specified by the UK Government.
  • plfc Supervisors

    • Supervisors in PPE and high-visibility jackets will direct and help as necessary. Please obey everything they instruct unless you believe doing so will endager your or someone else's safety - in which case please ask for clarification.
    • Please do not hesitate or feel embarassement at gesturing to supervisors for any assistance however menial - it's their pleasure to help in any way they can at this unusual time.
  • Track and trace

    • All church attendees will be required to provide their name, telephone number and/or address for UK government "track and trace" purposes.
    • Please be assured that under GDPR your personally identifying information will be stored securely and confidentially, destroyed after 21 days, and only disclosed to those authorised by the government for the purpose of "track and trace" and then only if required.
    • In the event that a localised Coronavirus incident occurs, you may be contacted by relevant government authorities in relation to your attendance at plfc.
  • Service format

    • There will be no sung worship during the service.
    • No refreshments will be made available before, during, or after the service.
    • Unfortunately at this time we must discourage socialising both inside and outside the church premises in line with current UK social distancing requirements.
  • Social distancing

    • Unfortunately at this time we cannot offer lifts or car shares to and from the church.
    • All attendees must keep 2 meters apart at all times from anyone present who is not in theirh own household or Support Bubble
    • Please keep moving until seated to ensure corridors, doorways, walkways, toilet areas, and foyers are kept clear at all times
    • Please remain seated until you are invited to leave, except for the toilet and emergencies if necessary
    • Please talk quietly and only to those close to reduce the risk of contaminating others' air
    • If there is a need to queue outside the church before entering, please observe 2 metre distancing.
  • Toilets

    • All attendees are strongly encouraged to use their home toilet before coming to church.
    • Outside the church toilets will be hand sanitiser dispensers, which should be used before and after use of the toilet.
    • Above all hand washing basins will be guidance on 20-second hand washing.

Thursday Coffee Mornigns (from the 23rd July 2020)

Coffee Morning will be held in the main church building rather than the extention hall as prior to the pandemic.

  • Church building

    • All food and drinks will be brought to your table. Please remain seated throughout the event except as necessary for use of the toilet or in an emergency.
  • Children

    • Children are welcome to attend Coffee Morning, but must remain with their parent or guardian at all times, following strict social distancing.
