Until recently working with UFM in Sao Luis, Brasil

In the autumn of 2005 Michael and Janice Gee together with their two young children Daniel (then aged 5) and Miriam (aged 3) went out as missionaries from plfc to work with the street children of Brasil.

They went out with UFM who already have several missionaries working on similar projects in Brasil. Most of their first year was spent at Campinas attending a language school learning Brasilian Portuguese - needless to say the children (who didn't have language lessons) learned a lot faster than their parents!

Having completed their language studies they moved to Sao Luis on the northern coast about 3 degrees south of the equator where they now live and work. Both Michael and Janice work on the "Off the Streets" project in the city which, in a number of ways, seeks to help children already living on the streets as well as trying to help poor families with children in the hope of preventing others from moving out onto the streets.

Above all, they seek to show to both the love of the Lord Jesus Christ, and seek to help them to see and understand the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ and of His power both to save them and to transform their lives.

Michael and Janice returned to the UK for a mid-term break of a few weeks in the summer of 2007 and then returned to Brasil until the end of their current term in 2009. They are now living and working in the U.K.
